Embarrassing Photo Post

I am so glad to have entered a new year. Don't get me wrong- 2009 was an incredible year, but it was also the busiest and most stressful year of my life! I got engaged, left my home, moved to the other side of the world, set up a new home, got married...the list goes on. Moving to Australia was a huge undertaking in itself, but organising a wedding on top of that left very little time for photography. Although I will look back on 2009 fondly, im quite relieved it is over!

And so welcome 2010...

And what a great year this is going to be. There is something really nice about starting the year in mid summer! The weather is fantastic here right now and so good for shooting outdoors. After having taken so much time away from my photography work im clutching my camera and literally buzzing inside, thinking about the photographic potential of the new year. The possibilities are endless.

One of my New Year Resolutions is to spend a lot more time updating the blog, it was badly neglected last year. It has been way to long since I last posted anything. As the festive season approached I attempted to make a Christmas post...and missed it. Then I tried to do a New Years post...well this is it, just a little late!

And so to start the ball rolling, this first post of 2010 shall be the Embarrassing Photo Post. I was going through some old photos to use for a slideshow for our wedding just before Christmas and came across a few shockers. Believe it or not this is the matriculation card I used for 5 years at University, got knows what I was thinking. Plenty more where that came from if you want it!

Over new year my new wife and I took a 4 day road trip along the Great Ocean Road and through the Grampians. Its the first holiday ive had since arriving in Australia 6 months ago and well deserved. I probably took more photos in those 4 days than I have taken in months! I will try to post a few when I get a chance. Nothing like a road trip to get you inspired.

And so continuing this re-immersion into photography, im heading up to the Gold Coast on Thursday, where my friend Che and I have set up 5 days of continuous shoots with some great local models. Its going to be a busy week! If you want to stay tuned on how this shoot goes down, you best be following me on Twitter.

Here’s wishing you all a Happy, Safe and Prosperous 2010!!!!
